I'm running an inspiron with a truemobile 1300 right now in the pcmcia slot. I'd like to put in an intel 2200 (or any other suggestions?) so I can free up the pcmcia slot, get rid of the card sticking out the side, and gain use of the built in antenna. I was wondering how the antenna hooks into the card. I've been looking at pictures, and I can't see for sure. Is it a solder connection? I've had the access cover off, and it looks like the card slides right into the tray, but I'm just wondering what is involved with the rest of the install. Are there any decent mini pci cards that will run 104mbps yet?

No you dont have to solder it . Its a very small plug .Usually there are two plugs one mentioned as Main and the other as Aux (if i remember correctly) Try to get an atheros a/b/g mini pci module its cheap and supports superG(108Mbps)

Well, I checked out the atheros card, and it was a little rich for my needs. I went ahead and ordered the intel 2200 because I could get it for $41 shipped new. Should be here in a few days, then I get get my truemobile off to someone who isn't set up for mini pci.
