Ok guys, I'm sure this has been explained somewhere, but I can't find it!

I just got the D-link Xtreme N gigabit router dir-655 and I'm not sure if my computer can get 300 mbps, (it has the intel(R) 5100 thing), but its not even getting 130. When I first connect I get 130, then seconds later it drops to 65 and hovers between 58-65 mbps.

Clearly I have to tweak it, but I lack expertise.
I know how to go into the router through the 192.168.x.x, but once there I am not sure how to find what I need to tweak, or really even what to change.

Please help me find what to change and how to change it.

Heres what I know I have to do, thanks so much in advance!

    Make it 40hz
    make it auto channel scan

I already have the newest firmware

If I missed anything please let me know what to do and how to do it, as well as the two things I listed above.

Lastly, just so you know, there is another computer on the network and it is using wireless G. So if I need to change something to make the two work well together, please let me know that too.

I also suggest upgrade you router firmware and you wireless driverrs to newest one from intel

also to do wireless n you have to use wpa 2 with aes? not wep

Simply put, log in to your router by accessing its default page, which is 192.168.0.1. Default password is blank. On the left hand side there is a wireless tab click it, then look for Channel / SSID that is where you can change your channel and bandwidth.

Even after doing so you might not get N speed because incompatibility between the 5100 Intel chipset based and the router Atheros chipset based.
