hey guys.. i'm working on a M-73 Series Notebook gateway..

this is my godsons computer which i was fixing up for him.. i had to restore the entire OS but he didn't have a disc.. so i put in vista ultimate, after the formating and install the drivers for ethernet were gone and the wireless didn't even show up as a device in device manager nor did the network adapter menu..
so i used my comp to get a driver for so i could connect with ethernet but couldn't get wireless to pop up.. any ideas?

Is this system available with Vista from Gateway at all? If it isn't, then drivers might simply not be available. Otherwise, if you check on the gateway support website, you should be able to find the wireless drivers that originally came with the system - you can give those a try and see if they'll play nice with Vista (no promises, however).

The comp had vista home premium on it.. I put ultimate, I found drivers on the gateway site, that's how I got the nic to work with ethernet.. the wireless drivers didn't do anything although I didn't try them all.. weird thing is though, the wireless device doesn't even show up in device manager.. ill try the rest of the drivers.. any reason why the device doesn't show though?
