My mini card can connect to the router (it says signal strength excellent connection speed 54Mbps ect) but then it pops up saying little or not connectivity. My card seems to be able to contact the router but can't recieve info from it. When I click on IE, Mozilla, Opera, or Firefox I get an unable to connect to server message.

can anyone clue me in to what the problem is and how to solve it?
Thanks in advance to all who reply and I look forward to all your post.

Can be caused by several things. First verify your wired connection is good. Download a copy of NetStumbler and see if you have some other wireless connections in the area. Allow to run for 10 min.

Then we will need more info to diag your problem. MFG and Model of router/AP.

Run "netstat /r" from the dos prompt.

Is there any way to erase eveything and start form stratch? If so, can anyone tell me how I would go about doing this? For the record I have a westell wireless router/modem. In other words this one device handles both my wired and wireless connections.

If you clink on your port connection for your wireless card and get properties. Rhe Network connection tab is where you will find all of your connecton info. You can delete and add from there.

Now if your neighbors network is not secure you are proably connect to it. From the network connection select advanced and un-check connect to non-prefered networks. And make sure you are set to connect to AP only if you are not using Adhoc.

Could you describe this process in more detail? I seem to be all thumbs at this point.
