Hi,
I'm trying to get the best wireless card for my laptop that can connect to the most access points.
Is this possible? I believe that the wireless reception is a function of the routers themselves as well as the card. So, unless there is a special router that sends a stronger signal, all basic wireless cards can connect to all available wireless networks?
Am I better off trying to sign on a 3G wireless plan or are there some wireless cards a lot better than others?
(note, I don't need the roaming functionality of a 3G plan)

If you don't need access anywhere(from a 3G card) then just stick with a regular wireless card. I'm a big supporter or the Linksys SRX line including their pcmcia card. For the most part any open networks you are trying to conenct to will be B or G. You wont need to worry much about A as it ismainly only used in business and always secured.
