    looking for a special modem

    any idea which modem can control how much data each user can use and therefor limit internet usage,,

    I believe the Actiontec modem/router Verizon distributes with its FiOS service can do that - you might look for another Actiontec router that does the same thing. Keep in mind, such a router might be a bit pricier than just your basic get-connected router.

    What specific features would I be looking for in a router to be able to see how much usage people a re using and also limiting it?

    a 'better' way is to slap a proxy server package into an old PC and use that as your 'gateway'.

    You may want to look at Netgear ProSafe Routers. I have the FVS338 model, it has bandwidth control and monitoring. I have not used the features so I can not comment on how well they work. This is a SMB calls router and has a lot of special functions.
