I have this issue only at my friend's house, when i try to connect to his wireless network.

My wireless adapter (Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN), finds his wifi signal, and connects to the network just fine, but i've never been able to get through to the internet...just a local connection only. many other wireless devices, including my iPod Touch and our other friend's laptop, have had no problem getting on the internet. I've not had this problem with this wireless adapter on any other wifi network. any idea why this would be happening?

Does your friend router requires you to use a WEP/WPA key?

this is a common problem w/ some routers and vista-- though you don't tell us your OS (though I suspect it's xp from your 3dmark score)...........

if you are using vista, have you installed SP1- that often fixes this problem

pls let us know the OS and router- thanks

Next time this happens, run ipconfig /all (or whatever the _Vista variation is) and see what your IP address is being reported as. It sounds like you might not be getting served up an IP address from the router's DHCP server.

I'm using vista home premium, 64 bit, SP1. The other laptop i've seen connect to it is xp, and my ipod is....ipod firmware. his network does not require a WEP or WPA key, as my ipod was able to get on without any confirmation. i'll do the ipconfig/all check next time im there...though i think i probably already tried that...can't remember anything specifically though
