This is the new compact form of the popular linksys wrtgs wifi g router. Im wondering if anyone has any experience with this router.

based on the shape of the router, does the internal antennae hinder the performance of the unit versus an external router.

I didn't know they had a WRTGSC; I've got the WRT54GC, another compact model though. A little larger then a Game Boy Advance. I haven't had any trouble with range so far, but I'm usually not very far away to begin with.

For the GC, at least, I believe you can purchase and add an external antenna, so that would probably help with signal.

Overall, I've had almost no problems with the WRT54GC. One thing to note; I don't think linksys really upgrades the firmware very much for the GC, compared to the other WRT54G models. I've never updated the firmware on my router and I'm still running the most current set. I don't know if that would hold true with a new model, but that's the way it is with the GC.

Also, is it WRT54G SC? or WRT54GC? I didn't see an "SC" on the Linksys site, thought it might have been something really new.
