    Hello there!

I upgraded my lenovo t61 to windows 7 and the wireless radio did not work, the radio did not even show up in a search. I then installed the Intel Wireless LAN driver 6mws15ww.exe, still no results. I ran a diagnostic and the computer tells me my radio is turned off, but do not show me how to turn it on, please help!

Well you did the common sense and right thing to download/install the driver but that didn't seem to fix the issue. Did you check to see if the Network Adapter showed up in Device Manager? Maybe you could've run an update or enable from there.

Nevertheless, check the BIOS on startup; Press F1 at power on or (follow these instructions to enter the BIOS) and verify that the Wireless LAN is enabled in there.

BTW, i'm not really familiar with the Lenovo's, is there a FN Key on the Keyboard? Some notebooks require the FN Key to be pressed along with another Key (usually an upper wireless symbol above the top number keys) on the Keyboard to enable the Wireless card. And others require a switch of some sort to be activated/turned to the on state. So just check those as well.

Also, if you go to Network and Sharing via Control Panel for ex. then Manage Network Connections/Change Adapter Settings.....see if the WLAN shows up there. If it does you should be able to enable it from there. I'm sure you might have tried some of these already, but sometimes we overlook the simple steps. :)

    a couple of questions:
    - Is the physical switch for the wireless turned on?
    - Is the wireless tuned on via the software, Fn F5 I believe
    - Did you download and install the driver from Lenovo's website or from intels? Try Lenovo's if you havn't already. Also, did you read the readme.txt file associated with the driver on Lenov's site. If may require additional software be installed to operate the wireless card, like Access Connections, maybe power manager.

You may have better luck posting this question in the Lenovo forum.
