laptop not detecting wireless networks HELP!!!!!

please help!! a few days ago I was messing with my wireless network because for some reason I was getting limited connectivity, then suddenly all the wireless networks in the list disappeared, not just my home network but also my neighbours, usually there is a whole list but now it is empty.

I'm using an Asus g51 with windows 7 64bit, I have tried updating the wireless adpator drivers but it doesnt help. turning the wireless switch off and on only seem to affect the bluetooth but not the WAN.
