Open your browser, and it should be http://192.168.1.1 , the password should be "admin", and then goto wireless, wireless security and Enable a WEP or other kind of code, and the rest is easy.

I'm sorry if this odoesnt help much, I am not great at explaining stuff.

Once you have opened the routers admin page up. First change the default admin password. You dont want anyone hacking in and locking you out.

Once in go to the wireless You want to SETUP Security with WPA, wep is not real security. Change the SSID key to someting other than def, no spaces. The easiest way is to use a desktop pc and copy and paste the key form a notepad. I recommend use a random generated key from GRC.com, use printable chr, and max allowed by your hardware. I prefer a min of 12 chr.

The go to your notebook and try to connect to your router, when prompted for the pass key copy and paste.

The you need to turn on file and printer sharing on your pc in order to share files.

on the second reply, When installing the router, I believed I changed to WPA but didnt change the SSID key, Im not sure how to get back to this step to change things,

Also I tried using the wizard to setup a small home or office network between the desktop and laptop, it isnt allowing me to do so.

When trying on my laptop, the wizard is saying my Local Area Connection NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller is disconnected.

    Thanks for the help

You can reset the router to return it to factory settings. I think it's also a good idea to write down which settings you changed and how you got there so that you can retrace your steps later.
