hi. i have never downloaded anything from any website greater than 1 mbps. i tested my download speed at easyspeak and it is 4mpbs. i don't think the websites i download from like filefront or gamespot can download at really high speeds? i don't know about this.

is it even worth it then to go pre-N router?

i wonder is pre-N mostly for people that do file transfers and networking within their own local area? thanks.

the only real benefit you will see from going to n is transferring files between computers. if your internet speeds are 4mb wireless g is capable of 54mb.. so you will never even use all of its bandwith. some n routers are capable of 300mb which you would never use anywhere near that much for internet use.

the only other benefit to n is in some case you can get longer range but not always. i use a g router and it has tremendous range since ive flashed it with tomato and upped it range (buffalo hp version). otherwise no..
