Hi, What would the typical transfer speeds for this card be? After testing I found the average output speed was 2MB with a max of 2.4MB, And Incoming was a average of 900KB and a max of 1.1MB. These speeds seem extremely slow to me. I have the most up to date drivers for this card and i'm wondering if It might be a issue with my Wireless router.

Yes, those speeds are a little on the low side. It is probably something to do with the router and not the wireless card. I also have a card like yours, and whilst I haven't checked the speeds on the card, I believ it transfers files quiker than 2 MB/s. Also, the distance impacts the maximum speed tranfer alot. The closer you are, the quicker the card. Try and test the card about 5 feet from the router, to get a reliable result, if you have not already done so. Hope this helps.

I was sitting two feet from the router and the card was reporting the connection as "excellent"

That is a bit weird. Does the speed actually feel like 2 MB/s when tranferring files or anything. If you have another wireless computer, maybe you check what the speed of that is, when connecting to the same router.

check if you have the latest firmware for your router?

The theoretical max (which you should be pretty close to) would be about 6.75MB/s.

40 minutes? that is horrible...like 100kb/s. Roughly for me...with a "good" connection (3 bars out of 5), it takes me about 2-3 minutes for a 700MB ish movie (equals roughly 5mb/s) with the same card. I'm guessing if I was close to my router with a "excellent" connection I could probably get speeds close to 6mb/s. The router I'm using is a Linksys WRT54GL, so it could be your router settings or even your card settings. You probably already know this, but there are a few configurations that you can set with this wireless card to improve its performance while sacrificing battery life.
    - Ad HOC power management: "noisy environment"
    - Power Management: "highest"
    - Throughput Enhancement: "enable"
    - Transmit Power: "highest"

I was wondering the same thing.

    I have the same card.
