I want to upgrade the wireless card to 5300,
but my laptop has only 2 antennas

    Is the third antenna necessary?
Do I have to open up the lcd?
Can I place it under the keyboard?

If not, which two should be connected?TR1, TR2, or TR3?

    Tyco vs WAEISO3 antennae?

The third antenna is not necessary. If you're using two, you should be using the white and black cables, connected to the two plugs on the edge of the card, leaving the middle plug empty. To install a third antenna, if your system doesn't have one already, you will have to take apart the display assembly and route the cable along the inside of the lid.

No, you don't have to disassemble the LCD. You can buy an additional antenna from oxfordtec.com and just route it through the case. No disassembly is required.

Nothing. All of the antenna are the same - TR1-3 are just markings. It doesn't matter which antenna are connected to the terminals.

I would go with the intel 5350 because where I am at the wimax just got implemented and can see it expanding else where. I will be selling my 5300 to get the 5350. I have all three ants up working fine. I have up to 430Mbps in my network stable around 400.

Multiple antennas will provide diversity improving the reception and therefore impacting positively the throughput, so a third and more antennas is better.
