    installed xp from vista now internet wirelles is 2.5mbp slower?

    so ive been doing test since last nite then this morn and i only seem to get around 2.5mbps,but nothing above and when i had vista i was getn full bandwidth around 5.0-6.5 mbp. any idea on wot could be the problem,i did turn off my firewall and said id monitor it myself.

    i have a broadcom wlan wireless on the laptop and is wireless to a speedtouch router.

    try running speedtest(speedtest.net) from your wired pc and see what the results are...

    it could just be your isp is experiencing problems atm

    on the wire connection desktop im getn 5.80mbps and on the laptop im getn 2.49mbps,of course not doing them at the same time lol.

    i ended up installing vista back on my laptop. sure xp is great but it doesnt do dual core to well. when i would play hd content on external mon it wouldnt run so great and when it did it doubled the cpu usage from when i had it on vista which was only around 35%,now my wireless is workn full max speed. i wonder why in xp it was only giving me half speed. i didnt test the laptop when in xp the wired way tho,im sure if i did id get the max speed.
