    Hi,

I basically scanned the forum for 10 seconds and decided that this section is the most appropriate. So here it goes...

I'm 20, in college, and living at home. My father finds it necessary to monitor my internet activities (STILL). It is bugging the crap out of me knowing that anything I write on the internet, be it a blog entry or forum post, can be seen by him. I need a way to keep him from invading my privacy.

Right now, I have hotspot shield, which I can use to bypass his firewalls. Will this program allow me to prevent my dad from viewing my internet history?

    If not, then please help

This sort of belongs in the ms security section not networking, mods!

Just make firefox clear your browser history, cache and cookies when you close it, there is a very obvious checkbox for this under tools>options>privacy. Alternatively, you can kill a rodent with an RPG so to speak, and setup a sandbox (google sandboxie), and simply nuke your entire sandbox after you are done - it will leave no evidence behind at all, since the data never actually existed.

And you do know what hotspot shield actually does I hope? It's a VPN/proxy service and will prevent (to an extent) people from sniffing you on unencrypted networks, it won't do anything about anything on your computer (browser history).

If you are using Firefox or internet explorer, then you have an option to delete your history. In menu bar there is a tools section open it and click on the clear recent history.. Then only the overall history of your PC will be removed and even your father could not caught what you have done..
