my dell 6400 with 3945abg is getting a constant speed of 1.6mbps on my di-524 router and same thing in my m60 and my desktop on the 2nd floor. today i bought this linksys wusb54gs because it was an open box and its so cheap, i installed it in my dell and works ok. i did a speed test and im getting around 3mbps and i thought wow this is great. i took it off and tried my 3945abg and its the same thing, 3mbps! so i installed the linksys usb in my desktop and would'nt even reach that 3mbps, its still 1.6mbps no matter what, but at the same time my dell is reaching 3mbps and both my desktop and dell is side by side.

can someone explain to me what's going on here? i happy about the speed but why cant i get it in my desktop and m60 even with linksys usb or built in wifi.

    thanks

Do you mean that the speed test shows 1.6mbps? Could you check what speed rate are you connected to your router.

54mbps, before i installed this linksys usb wifi with speedbooster, im only getting 1.6mbps even if i put my dell besides my router. i also uninstalled the software that came with the usb adapter and still im getting 3.2mbps download and 508kbps upload yet my desktop and my m60 are only getting max of 1.6mbps.

I'm using linksys wusb54gs too, I had that problem. But after changing the channel to 11 it seems to be fine. So perhaps you should try changing different channels on your router.

my router is on channel 11 too. and my dell is the only one that can reach 3.2mbps download. i dunno what i did on the settings on device manager (3945abg) and i tried it in my m60 which has 2915abg and still no go. even using wusb54gs in my m60 or desktop, still wont reach 3mbps.
it is still a mystery to me.
