Add it in manually. All you need to know is the SSID, type of encryption and pass key. And if it's not at least WPA with a min 20+chr random string do so at this time.

If you know how to log into the routers admin page you can check the settings. If he is using MAC Filtering too, you will need to add your new MAC addresses into it, or disable it. I do not use MAC Filtering, to much trouble for all of the PC I work on. I just use a very Strong WPA key.

yes. All of your setting will be lost if you reset the router.

resetting your router will yield the best results. you might need the original Linksys CD to connect to the internet, but most likely you won't. to access the routers settings, you'll need to type in it's IP address, which should be http://192.168.1.1

from there, you'll just have to set up a new wireless security setting so that other people can't tap into your internet connection. WPA Personal and AES encryption is the setting I use most of the time, as it is compatible with most devices.

If you just do a normal reset , which is like a cold boot (pull the power cable), the settings will not be lost. This is pushing the reset button momentary. But if you do a reset to factory (hold reset button in for 10sec) all settings are returned to factory and ANY thing changed will be lost.
