    how can i check if ports are blocked?sometimes i have problems with connecting with p2p programs. i use bearshare, utorrent and ares. it seems that in utorren port 28688 is blocked. i cant connect with others as well. the only thing is that i can connect mostly at night. why is that? do i have to do?

    google port scanning devices. and be carefull as topics/programs like this could be considered illegal

    There are some site that can scan for open ports as well as software. I use a software package that allows me to scan any range I'm interested in, very useful when I setup firewalls. I don't want and back doors being opened. You will have to find it on your own.

    Or just call your ISP and ask if their blocking any ports. Most are these days due to all of the illegal activity that P2P are used for. Beside sucking up all the bandwidth it can gets it hands on.
