    i want to have wireless internet at my home. i have dsl on a desktop. i want to carry my laptop around wireless. i also want my other desktop to be wireless(its on a rolling cart).

    can i have 3 computers on the same dsl?

    also, how can i hook my laptop to a cell phone for portable internet?

    want a light, powerful laptop with good service and battery time. needs good service.

    Anyways, You'll need a router, and two wireless cards. A wireless bg router is about $50, and 2 cards are prolly around $30 each.

    And yes you can, it goes like:

    phone line
    <to>
    modem
    <to>
    Desktop 1, router
    <router to>
    Desktop 2, laptop

    And if you want to connect cell hone to laptop for that, it'll cost about $50 a month from your cell phone plan i believe. It's blistering slow though.
