    how cani tell if someone is stealing my internet connection? cause i recently hooked up a wireless router and it seems slow so idk if someone is stealing it or not.

    you can log into your router and see what computers are connected to the LAN. they should be listed by name and mac. address.........

    i logged on to my router but idk where to find the screen that states waht comps are connected to my internet...sori for being such a noob, btw im using a linksys router

    Do you have wireless encyption setup? If not then it's pretty much a guarantee someone is stealing it.

    When I turn of my encryption for just 5 minutes I get atleast 3 devices not mine logging in ;)

    If you go to the MAC address page you can see a list of connected computer. If not, just browse through the pages Linksys has pretty good descriptions of what each tab does.

    Either way, just set up wireless security, and forget about it.

    You also might want to unplug your modem's power (and router) for about 10 minutes and see if it does anything. Also if you do a lot of P2P, and high bandwidth usage there is a chance your ISP is throttling you down.

    And while you're at it create better access name/password for the router.

    yes its encryption with ssid turned off....maby its just my modem or this buggy router ty for helps guys
