I just purchased a used Mt3707 laptop. It had windows vista on it. i noticed after i got it that the wireless did not work and after you put it in sleep it would wake up but nothing on the screen with out restarting the computer.. I thought it was a vista thing. so I had my brother install XP.. and we are having the same issues. Followed other peoples progress from this site on changing to XP on this computer using the same drivers and such. so my question is what else could it be? that would cause the wireless not to activate.. and the sleep problem too.. if it goes into standby it wont come back out unless restarted.. if you hit restart through windows when it comes back the screen is black as well... any ideas? I would really appreciate any help.

I would almost say the black screen and standby issue would be related to the graphics drivers, but since you've switched from Vista to XP and still have the issue it might be related to the video card or the power management features of the motherboard. You might try tinkering with the power settings in the BIOS to see if that has any effect. You could also try rolling back to older versions of your graphics driver to see if any of them might allow the standby feature to work properly. Flashing the BIOS or replacing the graphics card would be the only other things I could think of for that.
As for the wireless card, how broken is it? Does it show up as an installed device, but it can't find networks? Does it see networks but can't connect to them? The laptop could have a physical and a software switch that have to be activated to make the wireless card turn on. It will depend on how the problem manifests itself. -
doesnt show up.. cant find it anywhere on the computer except in the system32 folder just states realtek PCI wireless.. nothing in the folder.. cant find it to turn it on anyplace...
