I decided to put internet to my home. I am used to 100 Mbps at work, but obviously I can't have that at home. Could someone tell what speed/bandwidth are sufficient for keeping Skype running, and surfing several sites on the net (perhaps uploading photos as well)?

    Thanks!

It depends where you are and what kind of service is available. Available internet speeds and prices can have huge differences depending on wich region of the world you are in.

I'm in Israel and they offer stuff up to 7Mb/700kb (down- and upload). I was just wondering if 1.5Mb/512kb would be sufficient (and is it better than 3Mb/128kb?). I read from Skype site that for video conversation they recommend at least 386kb (without saying whether for down- or upload). Even though I only use voice calls now, I'd like to keep my options open.
