D-Link, Netgear, or linksys. Yeah, actually go with Netgear, pretty good setup and most people like it. I have a Linksys and it was OK to set up. Good Luck with that new computer! :)

The only two brands I recommend after all my researching are Linksys and DLink. Netgear is tempting because of rebates and positive reviews, but I'm biased against them. Had a basic four port hub from them that, after a month, simply stopped working. A friggin' hub.

    Here's a great deal on a Linksys: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._1/104-9209683-0913530?v=glance&s=pc&n=507846

All the features of the larger sized version of the router in a more portable config. Plus, it's $40 without mail in rebates.

I recently just asked the same question wheather i should get 108 or stick with 54. Yep i stuck to 54. They were saying 108 uses 2 54mb Channels to get the 108 which increases the throughput. I'd just stick with 54 if i were u, no point gettin 108 if your just going to use it for internet surfing.

Yeah 54mbps is plenty enough. 108mbps is just not worth it unless you will have like 10 computers on wireless or hooked up to the router at the same time. I have 11mbps (because of an internal card) and im happy :) :)

Get the $19.99 one from the Sunday ads. Almost every week someone has a 54 Mbs router at that price. And they all work pretty much the same.
