Ok so i have verizon DSL with a westell 6100 modem. i first bought a WRT54GX2 and just tried to use the software and manual instructions from the box to install it. sadly it didnt work so i tried going to 192.168.1.1 and it wouldnt even go there. so i changed it for a WGR614v6 and found out i had to change pppoe into bridge and change the dhcp (or whatever) to off. so then i tried it then i was able to log into the netgear router but then it said it could not access the internet. the power, ethernet, and dsl lights were on the modem but the internet light was out. can anyone out there help me? damn verizon is full of retards and netgear cant help me until i register the router and i just havent had the time to do so yet.

I have verizon FIOS service which is quite a different setup.

Se if this will help you out http://www.lava.net/support/Westell_6100_DSL_Modem_Installation_Guide

The reset the routers back to factory and try again.

Vezion in my area use MAC Filtering. So clone the MAC address of the pc used to setup the account into the router and you should be good to go.

It should be under the advanced section of the Internet (ISP, WAN) settings. It's sometimes called clone or spoof. Sorry can be more specific.
