    external wireless hard drive

    i would like to purchase an external hard drive to be connected to my router through ethernet and was wondering which kind that would be comapatible with mac time machine and also if it is possible to partition it in a way where i can use it to backup my pc as well ,over wifi ,thank you

    What you are looking at is a NAS (Network Attached Storage). Once on the network it like a file server. So you can create shares, add users and restrict access as you need. SmallNetBuilder has a chart comparing these units used for home use. Most of these home units are aimed at PC, but are running Linux firmware which favor the Mac's because the NAS does not need to run SAMBA.

    i am really sorry but this is too technical for me if you can point me toward few products that would be a good candidate for what i need i ll be very gratefull or just give me an idea how to narrow my search because i was totally lost on the smallnetbuilder website thanks in advance
