    I'm in over my head trying to help someone out. Couple of probs. First,can't seem to find the network controller drivers for an Acer Trevelmate 2420
    in device manager it's listed as pci\ven_8086 dev_4220 with a string of numbers after.second I have "client mac addr problem when I boot. If you can offer me guidance I would sure appreciate it.

    I'm not sure what your asking. That's an Intel Pro/Wireless number.

    If there's a problem with that driver, it should be stored on your system.
    Right click, uninstall. Then right click, search for new hardware and reinstall the driver.

    You should also be able to download all the drivers you need from the Acer website. On second thought, do this first because I don't know what's on your system.

    Do you see a warning sign in Device Manager under Network Adapters?
