hello, i have a strange problem. i have acer 5740 g. from the first day i have wireless problems with windows 7. if i open utorrent, it disconnects in about 2 minutes, otherwise not that short but definitely disconnects. i have to reset modem. no problem with ethernet. my modem is a bad modem, airties rt-204. i have read that some others have experienced same problem with that modem while torrenting on windows xp.

however, ubuntu never ever disconnects. so i suspect that the problem is due to windows.

    driver is atheros AR5B93 9.1.0.100 (28.5.2010)

so do you have any idea? thanks in advance

    Try another driver.
Also, check the power settings, too low with a poor connection and they can turn off.
