    Hi I have a desktop comp with a satellite connection (freedom net solutions)
    with 100.0Mbps.My friend stayed with us for a few monthsand got a router installed (54Mbps Netgear wgr614x7).She left recently but left the router connected.
    1/ My question is I'm getting a laptop (HP PAVILLION G60-12OU) my self and would like to know how to connect it
    2/ when taking laptop to areas with internet access how do you actually connect online

    1) You will need to ask your friend for the passkey to the router (if theres one). You just have to scan for the routers connection in Windows and enter the passkey and you should be connected to the internet.

    2) On public hotspots, you just need to scan for the connection like above. It will look something like this:
