Hook it up to your main router, switch off router for 10 seconds, and restart router. That worked for me in the past, don't ask me why.

First off, the Dell Dimension 8200 does not come with wireless capabilities. You can add a PCI wireless card to the system if you so desire. Secondly, you do not use a phone cable to connect a computer to a router, you use an ethernet cable. Make sure you are using an ethernet cable. A good way to check is to look at the plug itself and if it looks like a big phone plug, then it is ethernet. Plug one end into the ethernet port on the back of the computer and the other end into the router. If there is no ethernet port on the back of the computer, then you will just have to buy an ethernet card.
