    I been using dd-wrt(Buffalo) without wireless and I would like to setup wireless because I just bought a e1705.
    I have 2 computers connected to router + 1 wireless laptop.
    2 computers are connected fine.. I just want to add wireless.
    so I did following...
    AP MODE -> Wireless Mixed(I believe B/G) -> set SSID -> WP2 PSK Only(AES)...
    I've set my channel on 6.. and I ran a site survey.. seems many of routers are on channel 6 around neighbor.. does this matter?

    I just would like to confirm that I did everything correct.
    Please help.

    try switching your wireless channel to either 1 or 11... these the frequency does not overlap. This would definately help in a crowded area.

    everything else looks fine to me

    I would set it to G-only which is tied to WPA2. If your notebook does not support WP2, change to WPA-PSK. Make sure you have a strong psk, random generated using all printable chrs. I use grc.com key generator. I like to use the max the field will allow, min 20 chr. I would recommend making the SSID hidden, not broadcasted. As long as your NB is set to auto connect it will work fine.

    If you have problem with the psk key. connect via wired, then cut and paste the key into both router and NB, then save the key to a notepad for future use.

    Turn DHCP back on, and see if you can get internet.

    You should also tie in that your machines' MAC addresses are the only ones that get a IP number and have access to the network.

    It's an extra little thing to help protect the network. Any cracker has to be just that bit better.

    If you have a static IP from your ISP, then yes it is.
