im not quite sure where to start with this, but here is the situation... I have my laptop in my room that I want to be able to print from, The printer (canon ip3300) is connected directly to a computer in another room. I have a wireless router right beside that computer in the other room. How do I get my laptop to print from the printer in the other room?

Both computers run linux and windows and there is no way of telling which computer is going to be running which operating system at any time. At work, we had print servers that would help with this job, do i need a print server or something else to pull this off?

No, you just make sure that both computers are part of the same workgroup, and the printer is shared out.

You must also enable the sharing feature on your network.
