Sadly, VGA is output only, so no, you can't do this.

If you're running an MS OS, you can control a headless server using remote desktop connection - I've been doing that for about two months now and it's quite handy. On the other hand, there are a number of other remoting applications out there, e.g., PCAnywhere (I think that's the right name), that you can use to remotely control a headless server.
Basically, when you use remote desktop or a similar application, your keyboard and mouse are mapped onto the remote system's input devices, and the remote system's video/sound output is mapped back to your screen/speakers. These applications work best on a wired network, obviously; however, I've been using remote desktop connection wirelessly from my notebook. They can also be used across the internet, so if you happen to travel away from home, you can still check back in on your server from whereever you can get a safe-enough internet connection. -
@ Shyster1...yeah...server will be hardwired...to a hardwired router...i have a WAP for my wireless connections...do you happen to know of a good tut site to visit to find the info i need...

Radmin?
It's some kind of remote administration server software: im using it to manage my PC-Server in the next room, lol. The only thing you have to do is install the server's part of the package on your PC and remotely do whatever you want, using your wireless laptop - that's the way I do it, omg cool!
I usually wake the PC up using router LAN-Wake-up funtion via MAC adress, then Radmin'ing
Idk if I can share it around here, PM me for the link, I got one cracked too =D -
