I have a linksys duel band wireless n router. for some reason 2 of the computers on my network have to be rebooted in order for them to connect to the wireless n connection every morning (windows machines). does anyone have any insight why that might be. I dont even know where to start. it does not affect my macbook. my family is getting pissed because they have to keep rebooting every morning and I cant figure out why.

Fist thing that comes to my mind- IP lease time- by default it's 24h.
Check your router- I've changed mine to a week or so with my old router- otherwise it got pretty annoying too.

You could try assigning them static IPs if you can't pinpoint the cause, that should fix it.

ok i will look into static ips.

*edit - while looking for a place to enter the static ips i found an ip lease time setting that was at 24 hours. so i switched that to a week. if it works for a week then i will set up static ips.

I was really surprised about this post because it happened the same with me with my last old router but I couldn't fix the problem. Now I read this and think "damn I was stupid.. the solution was so easy". I will keep this in mind for the future... :)
and it works now for you?

There is a problem with the firmware if it's not renewing the lease. If the SSID is hidden, you will have renewal issues, too.

ssid is not hidden. changing the renewal time worked. so once i figured out that was the problem i set it static ips for the computers with problems. they are all fixed now it seems with no issues in the morning anymore.
