How does this work? Sometime when I can't get the wi--fi LAN connection on campus, the computer-to-computer wi-fi is available. Is this safe? How insecure is this? How does it work???

My school has a Wi-Fi area in the student center. Are you asking how to connect to it or how safe is it to use the wireless connection at the school?

I would assume it's refering to connecting to wireless connections. Can't really answer your question.

You are referring to an Ad-hoc network. Yes, it is possible and you can do it. The main reason for this type of network is Lan gaming and transferring files, etc. Basically is it is the wireless equivelant of running a cross-over cable between 2 computers.

I hope this helps clarify for you. :p

I wouldn't trust an Adhoc connection unless you knew what you were connecting to. I would only recommend connecting to what is known as a legitimate network.
