    a verry off the wall question here, since my notebook has wi-fi, if i connected to another computer without wi-fi with a cat5, could that computer acess the internet through my notebook?

    but like chris rock said about driving with your feet, "just because you can do it, doesn't mean it's to be done."

    Yup, it's entirely possible using Windows Internet Connection Sharing. The cat5 cable you use has to be a crossover cable though, not patch cable. Otherwise it won't work. Here's a link to Microsoft's own instructions on setting up ICS:
