I have a sager NP9170 ordered and was wondering if this wifi card would be compatible. I am not very familiar with card sizes and what not.

I have access to WiMAX at my apartment for free through my university, which is why I want to upgrade.

would it go in the same slot as the stock card and would I need anything else such as antennae?

It's the same slot. Intel 6250 supports WiMAX 802.16e standard which means 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz all of those would work with your standard antennas that you already have.

That said I have not first hand experience with WiMAX so I can't elaborate on any potential issues or things to keep in mind here.
