When connected to my wireless at college it does not allow my to connect to game servers such as lord of the rings online. Is there any way to bypass these blocks?

try proxy servers or a portable web browser like FireFox portable or Opera portable, that might bypass the original security settings.

They may have blocked certain ports commonly used by game servers. If you can change the port #, try to do so if you can find an open one. Otherwise, contact tech support and see what's up.

    No illegal suggestions.
