Right now i have AOL dial up in my house. i am getting ready to get a notebook but do not know when I will upgrade to DSL. My question is If I am near a university or library or anywhere that sends a wireless connection, will I be able to use my wireless internet on the laptop?
    thanks

If it is an unlocked wireless source, then yes, you will be able to use your wireless card to connect to the internet.

Be careful not to infringe on someone's private but unsecured wireless connection though. Although it is still somewhat of a grey area these days, it can legally be considered theft on your part. At the very least, it is a violation of the subscriber's EULA.

I bought to-day a notebook Compaq, centrino DuoV6137 and like all things about it. There is 1 thing that puzzles me though. When I go to the internet and am on CNN.com the picture fills only 75 % of the screen. It is all there, but does not fill the screen.
I had a late model Toshiba notebook which had an icon where I could increase it to 125, 150 even 200% and with 125 % it totally filled the available screen. The compaq has no such icon and I woder what I must do.
Now I should say that this bulletin board does fill the screen completely.
The windows are maximized when I am on the Internet and I am using Windows XP.
    Any ideas?
