    Hi

My cable company has a special offer on internet at "100M max. 100 Mbps/10 Mbps".

I am quite tempted (the price is the same as I am paying for their 10Mbps/1Mbps connection).

Would my airport extreme be able to keep up (ie. is it worth it?)

    Thanks :)

The best i got for what i paid for is only 2 megabit.

Airport Extreme is 802.11n and can technically reach up to 300 Mbps as its top speed.

Yeah, internet in Australia is ****ed expensive. Apparently, many countries don't have download limits...

You most likely wont get the whole 100mbps of speed. Due to proximity to the nearest exchange and other users in your neighborhood.

100mbps would be sweet though, that will be like downloading 12-13MB/s

Im on the ADSL2+ plan (24mbps) and im only getting 8-10mbps due to my proximity to the nearest exchange. Im on a 21gb plan, i usually exceed it by 60gb lol.

flipfire, I also live in Sydney. What ISP do you use? I got Optus Cable, but I'm looking to switch when I finish my contract.

    yay for fast speeds.

too bad your not in US where majority of servers are so your going to have high latency at times.

I would snap for it anyway :D

most routers cant route that much traffic howerver.

look into a cisco or juniper with atleast 75mb of routing capability

Yeah I am assuming that I would 'only' get a minimum 10 Mbps, not the 100Mbps advertised. Let's see! :)
