"btsendto_explorer.exe" Recognize this error message? Please help. Every time I turn my Sony laptop on, that error message appears. I googled it and it has something to do with my bluetooth. My bluetooth works perfectly and I have re-installed the bluetooth software, but pop-up reappears. How do I get rid of this pesky pop-up window from appearing every time I power on?

    Thanks in advance!

    -JC

what, exactly is the error message? Cannot find the file? Program is crashing?

Do you use the bluetooth send to explorer function?

If you want to know how to disable it, you need to list your OS.

    Hi Gerryf19,

    This is my system:
    Sony Vaio VGN-FW378J
    Windows Vista Home Premium
The Bluetooth installed is: WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 6.2.0.5800

These are the 2 error messages that pop-up every time I power up my laptop:

I googled them and I know it has something to do with Bluetooth. I also re-installed the bluetooth software without any luck.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanx

I hate Sony's....this sounds like an old problem where MS bluetooth drivers were inconflict with the drivers for your specific 3rd party drivers. It used to happen in Windows XP all the time.

Go to device manager and uninstall blue tooth

START > right click COMPUTER, choose MANAGE, choose DEVICE MANAGER, expand BLUE TOOTH, right click and uninstall everything there--if a check box presents allowing you to delete drivers, check it

    Now go to c:\windows\inf

    rename
    bth.inf to bth.bak

    reboot your computer.

Install the latest drivers from the sony website for your model

Sp2? Did the error start occuring when SP2 was installed?

Have you checked for more recent drivers?

    try this:

    Click Start, click Run, type

    %windir%\inf

in the Open box, and then click OK.

Right-click Bth.inf, and then click Rename.

Rename Bth.inf to Bth.bak, and then press ENTER.

Now install the third-party Bluetooth driver.

I followed your instructions to the letter and it seems to have resolved one of the error messages. The one that still appears though is the first one (btsendto_explorer.exe)

That one still pops-up after I turn my laptop on.

    thnx.

in the search box on the bottom, wait

click WINDOWS DEFENDER when it appears

    Click Tools menu

    Click SOFTWARE EXPLORER icon

see if btsendto_explorer.exe is listed. select it if it is, and choose DISABLE button

    reboot

    hi!
My computer (a new dell inspiron) is showing the "btsendto_explorer" message every time a boot up. I've tried following the instructions but windows defender won't turn on, i've tried clicking "click here to turn it on" but nothing happens.
Is there anything else i can do to make the message go away?
    Thanks1
