The blue light on the wireless disable button stays on after the switch is turned off. Is the government spying on me?

Well yes the government seems to be spying on everyone nowadays so I wouldn't rule that out. As far as the button not working try uninstalling the drivers then reinstalling.

OK I reinstalled the HP wireless assistant. When the switch is turned off the assistant reports wireless unavailable but the blue light stays on. The light will change to orange after the computer is turned off and restarted. The packet logger resets after the switch is turned off so there is no way to find out if any connections were made. This is new the switch has always worked correctly before.

You should try uninstalling and reinstalling your wireless drivers, and the HP wireless assistant. I don't think the wireless assistant has anything to do with the button as mine worked fine before I installed it.

I did a complete reload of windows the light works correctly now. Obviously there is a circuit bypass of the switch. The law requires wireless to be turned off on an aircraft it is only a matter of time before an air marshal shoots someone on an aircraft because a different branch of law inforcement illegaly turned on the wireless switch bypass.
