Got the new dell m4600 with the 6250 centrino wireless card.

I am looking to upgrade my wireless router to something that can support the dual band and has long range.

The three routers I am looking at are:

    1)The linksys E-4200
    2)The Netgear WNDR3800
    3)The Asus RT-N56U

I have no experience with these and I would really appreciate your input.

I'm an RT-N56U and I love it. Very good router. Pretty sure of the three you mentioned it's the least expensive.

In any case, I think you'd be happy with any of the three. They're supposed to be all very good routers.

While i can't vouch for the E4200 personally, my E3000 has been working flawlessly so far and the E4200 is said to be better. It is expensive though so if you want bang for the buck go for the N56U.

All three are very good- E4200 has the best 2.4GHz radio and capability of doing 450mbps on 5GHz band (which your card doesn't have) and N56U is pretty good in all departments especially with current price which is very reasonable.
WNDR3800 is just a WNDR3700 with some red paint and higher price-tag so go for WNDR3700 id you choose this setup. WNRD3700 is very similar to N56U both in terms of price and capabilities.

Thanks for the replies, still hoping to hear some more user experiences.

I thought all the dual band cards could hit 450. This is a bummer.

You need 3 antennas to hit 450mbps which means a card like the intel 6300 and a third antenna if there is none pre-wired.
