I am renting a house, and the owner has a wired router running down a ethernet for me. and I have another belkin wireless router connected to that ethernet...and then it connects to my desktop and my laptop...but weirdly, my internet will work for like two days and not work after that...then what I did was....go to my owner's router, change my position around and then go back to my router and restart it...then it'll work again....this method worked for two times so far...

anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Sounds like a router issue; I'd suggest trying a better quality router. I've been having great luck with the new TRENDnet unit I have.

I suspect the Belkin because it's last in the chain of routing, and this is usually where the problem is, at least in my experience.

Make sure that your Belkin is connected to the "uplink" or whatever the designated router chain connection port is on the landlords router is. If it is not, this my very well be your problem, which can be easily remedied by making the proper connection change.

Do you know the brand and model of your landlord's router?

    Hope this helps! :)

no I don't, but can I just substitute my belkin for the owner's router?

if so, since I live in the basement, will my signal be bad?

This depends on the wireless standard used, and the building materials and structure of the building, but it sure couldn't hurt to try, that's what I'd try if nothing else.

Are you using wireless G equipment or N Draft?

OK, then try out using it alone and see if you get a strong enough signal, which I think you most likely will. If you get a strong enough signal, but you keep getting dropped, contact Belkin support and see if you can get the issue resolved, if not I'd suggest trying out a better router.

WPA is the way to go, good choice there, WPA2 is even better is it's available to you.

No, you should not be having to re-enter the password after the first time. It should already be saved in your connections panel.
