    bad wireless signal

    my friend has a presario a909us. using same wireless
    setup as her old compaq but has much weaker signal.
    checked all settings and are the same. help :confused:

    The antenna designs change between various notebooks. Unfortunately, some are better than others, as well as some drivers being better than others. I'm not sure if that is or is not the case for your friend.

    The other thing it could be is that her older laptop was only connecting at b or a slower speed, which typically results in higher signal.

    Did you check you power management. Most def do run the wireless at full power.
