I'm at Best Buy right now, I want to setup up a wireless network for my dorm room since they offer one ethernet outlet for each student. Security is very important. As long as every device I own supports it, I may make it a hidden network. In the network will be my Xbox 360 (supports A/B/G, Windows Phone 7, HP Photosmart Printer, and my Dell Studio 1535 (which I think supports only B/G). Which router do you recomend of the 3?

    Linksys E2500 $80
    Belkin N600 DB $70
    Netgear N600 $80

    Thank you!

All three have an average rating of 4 eggs on Newegg, with the Linksys totaling 13 reviews, Belkin 4 reviews, and Netgear getting 66 reviews. I also happen to own a Netgear router and I've been a happy user of it for two years and never had any problems with it. I also use Linksys routers in my Robotics team and they are some tough routers with great signal strength (having at least 12 in the area the size of two living rooms, but still have clear signal). I don't know anything about Belkin routers though, but they are a well-known brand in networking.

I think it's a tossup between the Netgear and the Linksys.

I've always used Netgear for my routers, and I've never had any fault with them. Privatejarhead says they're all 4 eggs, so it's just a matter of preference.

Thank you everyone, since I've used a Linksys WRT54G for 6 or so years, I decided to give Netgear a try. Hopefully this one will also last me 6+ years as this is my first personally owned router.
