    am using a advent 7016 laptop and want to know how to use the wifi.
    do i need a network adaptor to pick up my broadband connection.
    am pretty new to laptops.

    You either need to have a wireless router or take it to a hotspot to connect. Just make sure that you have a FW, and that the AV is current when you goto a public place. And for security reason do not do any thing that requires a password unless it is a encrypted page, then ask your self is this really necessary?.

    havent a clue what you have just said lol.
    all i was wanting to do was use it at home to connect wirelessly, but has it got a built in card or do i need a adaptor.

    All you need is a Wireless 11g Router.

    You specs show that it has a ADMtek ADM8211 wireless adapter.

    have got a belkin wireless router and a net gear wireless router.
    so does this mean the laptop should pick up one of the routers without a network card or adaptor and is there any settings i need to check as it has just been formated.
