    hello all,

    can anyone tell me how to activate the infrared port on the hp pavilion dv6000? i guess its a BIOS parameter, but i'm not that knowlegeable and am scared of messing around in the BIOS.

    I have the same problem. I've gone to the BIOS but I don't know where is that option. Does anyone knows?

    Are you sure this is an Infrared port that you can actually use. Your notebooks come with a remote control, and it is probably used to recieve the signal from that, and not from other devices.

    See if you have a Control Panel called 'Wireless Link" This is where my infrared port settings are. Have a lot of options for port settings.
