Few weeks ago I received my new laptop and yesterday I was busy eating something and when I came back my internet was gone, I rebooted it, reinstalled the router, did everything I could but it's just dead. It doesn't detect any network. My sisters laptop has no problem detecting networks. I just don't understand how this can happen, one moment everything 5 minutes later nothing, dead :s

anyone have any idea what the problem is?

    thx

i don't know about your computer, but mine has a manual wireless switch on the side of it so you can turn the wifi feature on and off.

maybe you accidentally switched it off?

Have you installed any AV or FW lately? Disable the FW and see it it will connect. Most third party FW have a disable mode but most do not work, so uninstall is prefered. If you have Symantic it causes more problems that it fix and is a huge resource hog. If you had a demo that expired your are in a bad hurt. Symantic has a bad reputation of breaking things. Most cases it require a complete reinstall of the OS.

Or you may have had hardware failure. If that is the case you need to return it for repair or a new one.

    What does ipconfig /all says?

Also check you properties and advanced properties and see if any thing is disabled.

I believe your WIFI adapter got fried. It happened to my HP laptop. I found out your WIFI adapter only get fried if you are putting something under its left hand bottom corner. If I were you, go check if your warranty is still claimable.
