About every 3/4 reboots my wireless card forgets that it is there and loses the driver. First stop I did was to download new drivers, well I tried to, acer has no drivers at all for the 5014 range.

I figured that the 5020 was the same internals so I downloaded the broadcom driver for the 5020.

Same thing (apart from the fact I have a little belkin logo now in the sys tray) Still about every 3/4 reboots it forgets that it is there. Wired network is always ok.

Also non of the preconfigurable buttons work, the utility is there and the programs are linked but non of the buttons do anyhing (event he wireless).

    Any ideas?

Try going into the Device Manager (My Comptuer properties> Hardware tab> Device Manager) and make sure that your wireless card is listed under the Network Adapters. If it is, then go into its properties, and make sure it is enabled.

Have you physically checked the card to make sure that it is not loose? Try that before you do anything.

Report back and let me know how you fared.

    Chaz ;)

Its an internal (bolted in somewhere inside the machine as standard). If the adaptor isnt recognised then it will be a "yellow" unnamed "network controller" in "other devices".

I can immediately run the broadcom setup program, the machine restarts adn the network controller works fine.

Restart a few times and it is back to unrecognised. It is as if the machine keeps forgetting about the network controller.

Are there any other drivers that acer may use apart from the 5020? (my machine isnt a 5020 its a 5014 but there arent any drivers for the 5014 at all!)

    Thanks for any help
